Springfield card uses
Campus Cash debit account
Carry your i-card and carry less cash! Use Campus Cash, the UIS campus debit account, to pay for any of the following:
- Food and beverages
Campus Cash is accepted when you purchase food or beverages at dining locations, vending machines, and snack bars.
Residence hall tenants and guests pay for use of laundry facilities with Campus Cash.
Anyone with a valid University ID card or value card may use Campus Cash at convenience copiers.
Students, faculty, and staff may pay for printing at UIS computing facilities using Campus Cash. In addition, students are allotted $25 in printing funds per calendar year.
- Textbooks and supplies
The UIS Bookstore accepts Campus Cash.
Meal plan access
UIS students living in campus housing may purchase meal plans. To get a meal plan, complete a Meal Plan Agreement form [PDF] and submit it at the ID Center. Meal plan enrollees are responsible for reading meal plan Terms and Conditions [PDF].
Students assessed the General fee and faculty and staff who have purchased a membership may use Recreational Sports facilities by presenting their i-card.
Identification and access
Swiping or scanning your i-card enables campus units to confirm your status as a current student, employee, or retiree. The most common services that require you to identify yourself are:
- Library use
Students, employees, alumni, and others have borrowing privileges at Brookens Library.
- Door access
Persons receive access upon request, if such access is needed. The access control coordinator for the related building(s) determines who needs and gets door access.
Having an i-card can save you money, too. There are many discounts available to cardholders on the Springfield campus:
- Athletics event discounts
Students receive discounts on Athletics events tickets.
- Shopping and service discounts
i-card Perks are special discounts that local merchants offer to University i‑card holders.
- Performing arts event discounts
Students may buy discounted tickets to events at Sangamon Auditorium.
